Cat and Dylan's Engagement Session, Bay Area, CA

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Cat and Dylan's engagement sessions is one of our ALL TIME FAVS!!!!!!!!! Normally, I do not write this much on my posts, but I thought this one deserved a little extra background information to completely fall in love with the ideas behind this shoot.

When Cat contacted me about shooting her and Dylan's Session, she couldn't stress enough to me how much of a "challenge" they were going to be....hahaha....She kept telling me stuff like:

"
Dylan and I are TERRIBLE at getting our photos taken. I'm not pretty, we're both giant goofs, and we both get so nervous in front of a camera that 9 out of 10 times, we just intentionally ruin the shot. ALL of your work I've seen makes everyone look like a professional model (without looking stiff, which is my biggest complaint with a lot of other engagement photo portfolios I've seen). I'm hoping you can make us two giant geeks look half as good. No pressure! Ha!"

and things like:

"He's a software engineer, I'm an attorney, we met in undergrad when I was studying math and he studied computer science, we watch sci fi together, quote Star Wars lines, play D&D with our friends, LOVE the Beatles, both work on cars, are big foodies, I'm Taiwanese, he's Polish, we have a cat named Modulo (after the math function), he grew up surrounded by redwoods, I grew up on a walnut farm.... We're a weird pair, to be sure."

Then she told me that she wanted images to reflect WHO THEY WERE....1) Romantic 2) totally geeky and 3) she told me she was in the Roller Derby and wanted to shoot something in her roller derby gear, my reply was "BRING IT ON......" I was so excited!!!!

After hearing the story of there first date and kiss (up in a tree) and the romantic story of how Dylan purposed (giving her 8 unique gifts, one that represented every year that they had been together. The first gift, a twig from the very tree they had their first date in and the final gift, the ring!!!) Tia and I quickly decided, we HAD to shoot them up in a tree....
In honor of one of our FAVORITE engagement sessions to date, I thought I'd do something different this time and showcase their slide show- well worth watching!!!!!

Cat and Dylan, Tia and I just simply ADORE you guys...we LOVE that you are self proclaimed "big geeks"....we LOVE that you are both so AMAZINGLY CUTE, but neither one of you have any idea of how cute you really are. We LOVE that you found each other in this big world and fell in love.....and we LOVE that you found us, allowed us and trusted us to take these pictures of you!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!!

Here is what Cat and Dylan had to say about their pictures and their experience working with T&T (had to share, cause it's OH SO SWEET!!!)

From Cat days before the shoot:

"And can I just say: you're epic. I haven't heard of a single other photographer (or photography team!) that puts this kind of time and effort into their clients for a little ole engagement shoot. Thank you so much for all your input, before having taken a single shot! Your hard work already means a lot to me. Can't wait to meet you!"

From Cat the day AFTER the shoot:

"Dylan just said "I miss our photographers." Thanks again for a really great time, I can't believe how fun that was, I wanna do it again! Can't wait to see them! I'm so nervous, hope we didn't screw them up! lol Thanks again!"

From Cat the day she and Dylan watched the slideshow:

"We've watched the slide show probably 8 times now. We both cry every single time. It's fantastic! We both love it soooo much! The pictures are spectacular. We both said the same thing: that's not me, that person looks too amazing. Then we both said the same thing to each other: that's how you look to me every single moment. Thank you so much. I really can't express how spectacular these are. Your talents completely floor me! It's late at night, but we've still been calling up our family to have them watch it with us on the phone--they're squealing and crying almost as much as we are.
Tia deserves a bunch of love too--peeps keep commenting on our hair! lol.....I'm going to go watch it again. LOVE IT!
